Most people go to their first yoga class for the physical benefits: flexibility, strength and maybe balance. Maybe they want to lose weight or figure out how to do a cool pose they saw on Instagram. For some of us it only takes one class, for others maybe a few, when there is a shift. There is a moment, or a few moments when you feel at peace. It’s the “yoga bliss” that can be hard to explain, but it just feels SO GOOD. It’s a feeling of being relaxed, energized, inspired, present, grateful, and comfortable in your own skin. It’s the physical practice that brings you to your mat, and it’s the “more” part that brings you back. Over the years, we have become so “connected” with technology, so good at multi-tasking and pushing on to the next thing. Yes, yoga will help you get stronger, more flexible, and have better balance. The part that you will love is that simultaneously, yoga provides you with an opportunity to slow down, breathe, and connect with yourself.
