Sometimes in life it is difficult to understand why things happen. We go through a lot of ups and downs, and it is the contrast that really makes us appreciate the wonderful moments. Have you ever noticed that many yoga teachers found yoga during a difficult time in their lives? They (myself included) say that YOGA helped them get through it. Why? Because there is something wonderful about the yoga practice that makes even the worst of times feel a little less heavy. The connection of movement, stillness and breath allows your body to release built up tension and stress.
I am always inspired by those who are genuinely happy, after going through a tough time. It’s like one day they wake up and accept their journey for what it is, and decide to move on. Stronger, wiser, and more focused on the now. It’s a slow process, just like a yoga practice, and every day it gets easier. Every day you get stronger.
Everyone’s journey is different, but we are all going through similar things. And, what we all have in common is the present moment. So, embrace your journey and trust the process, knowing that everything will be okay. Forget about the people/things that bring you down. Focus on people/things that lift you up. Make the best of today, for today is all we really have.
Yoga helps you find your focus and be in the present moment. It is refreshing, energizing and relaxing all at the same time.
