3 Things to Celebrate

By Jen | In News | on June 10, 2013

Our Grand Opening was Saturday, June 8th, 2013 with 3 free classes: 10 AM (KIDS), 12 PM (Adults), and 2 PM (Adults).  We had a full house and totally rocked it out.  As I went home that night, 3 things kept coming to mind.

1. OUR COMMUNITY!  YOU inspire me.  It takes courage, curiousity and commitment to try something new.  Each person who came to check out UPY was full of positive energy and support.  We had a full range of ages, experience levels (very beginners to yoga teachers), and a lot of guys!  Thank you and it was so nice meeting everyone!  See you again soon!!UPYsocial-0664

2. KIDS – Kids love yoga (and Shannon-naturally!!).  Shannon is a 4th grade teacher in Duxbury, my best friend, and a wonderful person who truly has a gift with kids.  She is silly, fun, energetic, and also knows how to get the kids focused and relaxed.  I could see in her eyes how much she loved teaching kids yoga, and the kids could tell too.  After the class, I heard some of the kids telling their parents, “I don’t want to leave!  When can we come back?”.  SO, so cute.  Celebrate the kids in your life.  You can sign your child up for Friday Night Yoga Fun (workshop) with Shannon for 6:30-8:30 PM on Friday, June 14th.  $25, $20 pre-register: https://clients.mindbodyonline.com/ASP/home.asp?studioid=39249

3. Thoughtfulness.  Have you ever said to yourself, “wow, I can’t believe they did that!  That was so thoughtful.”  I had that feeling so many times on Saturday.  My family and friends sent flowers, cards, texts, voicemails, facebook messages and even showed up at the studio to support me.  I was blown away by the thoughtfulness and support from all around me.  It occurred to me how thoughtful people really are, and how important it is to acknowledge and send thanks to all of them.  Celebrate the people in your life who support you and do thoughtful things (big and small).  This takes effort and it’s because they love you!!
